Looking at the emails Power-Grid, how can I tell whether an email was sent or received — and what do the status icons mean?

The leftmost column of the emails Power-Grid shows a small icon for each email. Here's what each one means.

Icon meanings

  • Outgoing arrow icon: This is an outgoing email that you sent.
  • Trash icon: This is an incoming email that you moved to the 'Trash' folder.
  • Spam/delete icon: This is an incoming email that you deleted as spam.
  • Linked contact icon (coloured): This is an incoming email where the sender is known to Unusual Suite and the email is linked to a contact, an organisation, or a user. Unusual Suite creates this link in any of the following situations:
    • The email was received and the sender's email address was found in the database, so the sender (contact, organisation, or user) was automatically linked to the email.
    • The email was received, the feature to process email signatures is enabled in your email account setup, processing the signature created a new contact or organisation that matched the sender, and that record was linked to the email.
    • You clicked the signature-processing icon on the quick action bar of the email, which manually triggered signature processing, and the sender's address now matches a contact or organisation record.
    • You clicked on the sender in the email's detail view and either created a new contact or organisation, or added the sender's email address to an existing one.
  • No icon: This is an incoming email where the sender is not known to Unusual Suite and the email is not linked to any contact, organisation, or user. You can process the signature by clicking the signature-processing icon on the quick action bar. Unusual Suite will then try to create a contact or organisation from the information in the email signature and link the email to that new record.

You can hover your mouse over any icon to see a tooltip that explains its meaning.

Limitations of the link icon logic

Unusual Suite will not set the linked contact icon automatically if you added the sender's email address directly in the contact or organisation detail view. In that case, you can click the signature-processing icon on the quick action bar to manually trigger the link.

Unusual Suite does not remove the linked contact icon once it has been set. In particular, the icon will remain even if:

  • You removed the link in the email's detail view.
  • You removed or changed the sender's email address on the linked contact or organisation.
  • You deleted the linked contact or organisation entirely.
