External links point to records in the Unusual Suite database so you can share them outside the app. Opening an external link launches Unusual Suite and asks you to log in before showing the record.
External links are available for contacts, documents, emails, issues, organizations, projects, tickets, users, and wiki articles.
Open the record you want to link, then click the 'Copy link to clipboard' icon in the top right. Paste the link into any external document or message.
When someone clicks the link, Unusual Suite opens and asks them to log in. Once logged in, they can view the record — and edit it if their entitlements allow it.
External links to published wiki articles, documents, and projects don't require a login — the record opens immediately in read-only mode. Published projects expose only a limited subset of available project properties.
If you paste an external link into the Unusual Suite text editor — for example, in a note or description — it's automatically converted to a Power-Link. A Power-Link opens the record in your current Unusual Suite instance instead of launching a new one.
Emails are the exception. Because emails are usually read outside Unusual Suite, Power-Links don't apply — clicking an external link in an email always opens a new Unusual Suite instance.
Notification emails from Unusual Suite — for example, when an activity's owner changes — include an external link to the relevant record in the subject line. If you read the email inside Unusual Suite, the external link appears as a clickable link on the '[Unusual Suite]' prefix of the subject.
